Condition grading at intake
Grading happens once, as the label prints, against a fixed list you define. The grade travels with the unit into the bin, the lot, and the listing without being retyped.
Go to Custom Fields under Administration and add a grade field on inventory. Set the allowed values, whether that is A, B and C or New, Open box and Salvage.
Check the required box on the field. Staff cannot save a unit without setting a grade, so nothing reaches the floor ungraded.
On the Add Inventory form, pick the grade from the list, then print the QR label. One pass covers identifying, grading, and tagging the unit.
Record what the grade is based on: missing parts, packaging damage, untested. Photos attach to the same record for the listing later.
The grade stays on the unit through movement, lot building, and publishing, so pricing and buyer-facing condition notes come from the same source.
